Another year, but not just another RSNA. This year’s annual meeting proved to be different on so many different levels. Weather conditions, to put it lightly, made it an adventure for many to get to the RSNA show floor. For the HealthLevel team, we debuted a freshly-designed booth to showcase our growth as a company and continued commitment to delivering solutions that drive operational efficiency. Keep reading for more detailed observations.
Winter Storm Impact: There’s one common topic that attendees and exhibitors talked about this year (and will likely to for years to come): the winter storm. According to the National Weather Service, this post-Thanksgiving storm delivered nearly a foot of snow to the region, which led to mass flight cancellations into Chicago. The floors of the North and South Halls were quiet on the first day of exhibits, but that didn’t last long! By day two, traffic began to ramp up to make up for lost time. In fact, our HealthLevel booth saw an INCREDIBLE 77% boost in traffic, compared to last year. By the end of the show, RSNA was bustling with attendees, similar to previous years.
Understanding A.I.: Over the last few RSNAs, A.I. had been the hot topic. At 2023’s RSNA, we noted that there was a lot of confusion among a sea of A.I.-related products. By 2024, attendees were determined to cut through the hype to find out what A.I. could really do. This year, A.I. didn’t really register as a main point of discussion. Where in years past, nearly every attendee asked us the standard discovery question of, “So, do have any type of A.I.?”, this year’s booth visitors nodded their head with understanding when we explained how our machine learning algorithms were used for predictive analytics. Seemingly, attendees felt satisfied with their understanding of A.I. and its versatile capabilities.
Better Business Intelligence: Many of our conversations were focused on the need for better, more detailed business intelligence. In fact, a number of our booth visitors already had some type of analytics solution, but were unhappy with their capabilities. Examples included, ease-of-use, drill-down details, unreliable/incorrect data, outdated reports, etc. – you name it, we heard it. So, we demoed the visibility, ease of use, and capabilities that Foundations™ provides. In addition to bread-and-butter metrics (e.g., TATs, orders & volumes, etc.), visitors were particularly interested in its quality-of-life features: flexibility with date ranges, detailed drill-down metrics (e.g., by code/exam types), and the ability to customize reports based on specific needs. They reinforced a message that we’ve heard for years: analytics alone is not enough – analytics must be relevant and actionable. These are precisely two strengths of Foundations™ that caught the attention of our visitors.
This year’s show is filled with particularly unique memories: from adventures stemming from the winter storm to a miraculous attendance recovery by the end of the show. A sincere thanks to everyone who, despite these challenges, were able to attend and stop by to say, “Hello!”
